Move fast, but document first

After a storm, photograph damaged structures, contents and roof areas before anything is removed. Insurance adjusters need that record, and once debris is in a container it no longer exists as evidence.

Separate vegetative from structural debris

Municipal curbside programs typically collect vegetative debris on their own schedule, while damaged drywall, insulation, flooring and roofing are construction debris. Putting them in one pile slows both processes. A roll-off for building materials plus a curbside pile for branches is usually the fastest combination.

Water-damaged interiors

Wet drywall and insulation gain enormous weight, and mold begins developing within roughly 24 to 48 hours in Florida humidity. Prioritise removing saturated materials and expect tonnage to run higher than the same volume of dry debris.

Plan for demand spikes

Immediately after a named storm, container availability across Palm Beach County tightens for days. Calling early — even before you have a full damage assessment — puts you in the queue while equipment is still available.
